attentive midwifery care

Jennifer Gagnon, CNM

I have been a midwife since 2000 and have worked in the home and hospital setting. My goal is to educate women so they can make the best choice for them and to fully understand the implications of their choices. An empowering pregnancy and birth contributes to a healthy mom and baby.

I received a BS and MS in nursing from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. My nursing experience includes working in labor and delivery at two of Cleveland's high risk hospitals, MetroHealth Medical Center and University Hospitals of Cleveland.

My midwifery career brought me to Chicago and I have worked in a home birth practice and in several hospital based midwifery practices.  Having worked together at a hospital based service, Jewel (the founder of A Woman's Place) and I knew we had many of the same philosophies, and I am fortunate to have been able to join her in starting A Woman's Place. I have seen birth in many settings and am confident providing care in each one.

Lynne Wycoff, RN

I am a registered nurse with 25 years experience in labor and delivery. I have worked in hospitals in Illinois, California and New Mexico and at The Birthplace, a free-standing birth center in San Diego. I have also worked with home birth practices, both with a doctor and with midwives here in Chicago. I have taught childbirth preparation classes and was certified in lactation consultation and massage therapy.

I received my diploma in Nursing from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Evanston and my BS in Psychology from Mundelein College in Chicago.

I am so happy to be joining A Woman’s Place.
