"Jen-Nine days have passed since Jude was born. Mom and baby are doing great and our two older boys have taken to their new brother very well. Of the three births, I have to say your presence made this one the most natural, the funnest, and least stressful of them all. You have a real gift and we are fortunate to have had your help. We wish you the best in your work, and if we're crazy enough to attempt #4 and are still in Chicago, we'll look you up. Thanks again, Charlie and Liz."

"When we first started to think about where to have our baby, we weren't sure whether we wanted to do it in a hospital or at home. Eventually, we decided to do it at home. We thought we could have everything there just the way we wanted it. We could be together the whole time. My wife could move around as much as she wanted. It would be more comfortable. More importantly, we'd be able to concentrate on the important thing: the process of birth and the new baby. The big, anonymous hospital wouldn't be getting in the way. And in fact, the home birth was everything we could have hoped for and more. It was simply beautiful. The midwives were sensitive to our needs. They seemed to know instinctively when we wanted time to ourselves, and when to help out. There wasn't a single second when we worried about anything. If we were to have another child, we'd want to do it at home. And we'd work with A Woman's Place." Sibylle and Jonathan

"My husband and I spent several weeks looking for the right person to deliver our baby and the right place to do it. I wanted someone who would empower me during the pregnancy and labor and let the process happen naturally and I wanted to give birth in a place where I felt strong--probably not a hospital. My husband, a doctor, needed someone he trusted to handle emergencies so that he could be the dad during this birth, and he preferred to have the birth in a hospital. After meeting a couple of other providers and touring one large hospital's labor and delivery unit, I had all but lost hope. By chance I came across A Woman's Place, and the moment I spoke with Jewel I knew she was special. Jewel and Jennifer were perfect! They kept us calm about an early potential complication in the pregnancy and they really prepared us for the birth. Jewel was the picture of strength and calmness during labor, and she really helped me trust my body. My husband was impressed with how much the hospital staff trusted and respected Jewel and Jennifer. My parents, who were there for the birth, are still surprised at how different our birth was from anything they experienced themselves or saw on TV. They are still singing the midwives' praises. I now have the most beautiful daughter, Ella, and if she ever decides to become a mother, I hope Jewel and Jennifer are still delivering babies." Jen and Craig
